THORPEDO ANNA (2021– )

A dark bay filly bred in Kentucky and named after a local Louisville swimmer, Thorpedo Anna captured national attention with her determined victory in the 2024 Kentucky Oaks. That same year, trainer Kenny McPeek and jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. achieved the rare feat of winning both the Oaks with Thorpedo Anna and the Kentucky Derby with Mystik Dan. Compiling six wins and a narrow runner-up in seven starts, Thorpedo Anna was crowned Horse of the Year in 2024. Still racing to date as of 2025, she remains one of the sport’s brightest rising stars.
